An interactive two-day event, whereby we emphasised the way in which the chemical sector takes care of nature.
‘Chemistry Day’ prepared with care
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May ten Antwerp-based chemical companies opened their doors for the ‘Chemistry Day’. D’M&S only saw to the organisation, but also took care of the entire communication.
“The striking and distinctive graphic touch gave all of the communication tools and extra accent.”
2011 is the ‘Year of Chemistry’, and ten chemical companies in Zwijndrecht thought it was the right time to open their doors and show the general public what exactly they produce, how they do that sustainably and how the often innovative products are used in everyday life. ‘The ten’ are 3M, Praxair, Nippon Shokubai, INEOS, Kuraray, ExxonMobil, Seppic, Essent, Dow and last but not least SPA. D’M&S saw to it that the event ran without a hitch, and gave it a communicative and creative twist (both offline and online).
We Care
The concept for publicising the ‘Chemistry Day’ referred directly to how much the chemical industry cares about the environment. The straightforward yet appropriate slogan ‘We Care’ underscored that safe, responsible production is nowadays an absolute priority for every chemical company. The image – a lab technician carefully holding up a glass flask containing the earth – radiates this same message. In order to further reinforce the ‘chemical nature’ of the communication, we added elements to the design from the periodic table – a striking and distinctive graphic touch that gave the various tools (from the invitation, to the information leaflet up to the website and the event communication) an extra accent.
