The Belgian Institute for Traffic Safety (BIVV) – founded in 1986 – is non-profit association that aims to promote traffic safety. Its activities relate to the three factors that determine traffic safety: the road user, the vehicle and the road (road environment). This means that the BIVV provides an active contribution to the long-term reduction of the number of traffic accidents on the Belgian road network, and contributes to improving traffic viability through research, providing information, training and raising awareness, but also through services for companies, associations and citizens.
